NAIC Task Force Releases Overview of Potential Insurance-Related Impacts of Climate Change on Insurance Regulators
March 13, 2007 – The Climate Change and Global Warming (EX) Task Force of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) released the first draft of what it is calling an overview of potential impacts on insurance regulators as a result of climate change. The document was released during the organization’s spring national meeting in New York City. Washington Insurance Commissioner Mike Kreidler, who co-chairs the Task Force with Nebraska Insurance Director Tim Wagner, said the document “lays out a framework” for the white paper that the Task Force hopes to complete by mid-year.
