Blogs

Editor’s Note: The following is a select list of bloggers who run the politicial and scientific gamut when it comes to climate change and global warming.  We thought you might enjoy their diverse set of views.

Climate Audit –
Stephen McIntyre, the editor of this blog, is devoted to the analysis and discussion of climate data. McIntyre is most prominent as a critic of the temperature record of the past 1000 years and the data quality of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies.

Climate ProgressThis site is dedicated to providing the progressive perspective on climate science, climate solutions, and climate politics. It is a project of the Center for American Progress Action Fund, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. Dr. Joseph Romm, a senior fellow at American Progress, is the editor.

Climate SkepticWarren Meyer is the author of this blog which he originally started to help report climate developments in layman’s terms, particularly the science of the skeptic’s position.  Meyer has a degree in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Princeton University, where his studies focused on the control and stability of dynamic systems, issues at the very heart of the climate debate.  He also has an MBA from Harvard.

Desmogblog.comThis site exists to clear the PR pollution that is clouding the science on climate change. Jim Hoggan, founder of James Hoggan & Associates, one of Canada’s leading public relations firms, leads the blog team. He believes that integrity and public relations should not be at odds – that a good public reputation generally flows from a record of responsible actions.

Real ClimateThis is a commentary site on climate science by working climate scientists for the interested public and journalists. It aims to provide a quick response to developing stories and provides the context sometimes missing in mainstream commentary. Discussion is restricted to scientific topics and does not get involved in any political or economic implications of the science.

Roger Pielke Jr.’s BlogPielke is a professor of environmental studies at the Center for Science and Technology Policy Research at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He also has an appointment as a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Consortium for Science, Policy and Outcomes at Arizona State University and is a Senior Fellow of The Breakthrough Institute, a progressive think tank.

Skeptical ScienceThe goal of this site is to explain what peer reviewed science has to say about global warming. When you peruse the many arguments of global warming skeptics, a pattern emerges. Skeptic arguments tend to focus on narrow pieces of the puzzle while neglecting the broader picture. John Cook, who studied physics at the University of Queensland, Australia, edits the blog.
