Sustanability Critical To Corporate Success, Global CEOs Say

June 22, 2010 — A survey of 766 global CEOs has found that 93 percent of them believe sustainability will be critical to the future success of their companies.

The survey, which was conducted by the United Nations Global Compact and Accenture, also found that within the next decade, a tipping point could be reached that fully meshes sustainability with core business — its capabilities,  processes and systems, and throughout global supply chains and subsidiaries.

The survey also found that the global economic downturn has done little to dampen corporate commitment to sustainability as 80 percent of the CEOs believe that sustainability is being recognized as a source of cost efficiencies and revenue growth.

WWF, Allianz Create Game To Test Climate Business Strategies Online

May 27, 2010 – Allianz and WWF have launched a new online game – CEO2 – to test potential climate change reduction business strategies.

Users can slip into the role of a CEO and show which business strategies work out to reduce carbon, reduce risks and increase long-term profitability.

The aim of the game is to identify which investments at what time will set the course for profitbable growth in the low carbon economy of the future.

CEO2 shows the possible impacts of business decisions in the chemical, automobile, utility and finance industry during the next 20 years.  Players’ success is measured according to the development of the stock price from climate protection if it sets the framework for middle- and long-term reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.

The game is available on www.ceo2-game.com for free.
